Normally the thought of getting involved in any political discussions makes me want to throw myself out of my wheelchair and stick my head in a bucket of sick but Philip Davies MP really got my goat this week along with about 99% of the UK public, so here I am with my newly found political head on fighting back.
Philip Davies suggested to his fellow cronies in Parliament that disabled people should be allowed to work for less than the minimum wage, to allow them to get onto the job ladder and off of their disability benefits! He claims that people with learning disabilities and mental health problems would have a better chance at getting a job if they were to work for a pittance (opps sorry meant less than the minimum wage)
Does this mixed up moron really believe that this is anything but discrimination, would MP's work for less than the minimum wage to get their foot on the political ladder? would Mr Philip Davies MP be happy to work for the minimum wage? does Mr Davies even know what the minimum wages is? and furthermore does Mr Davies MP know what planet he is on? because I'm sure as eggs are eggs he's not on the same planet as me.
Do we, the good old British public really pay this guy's wages for him to come up with preposterous suggestions like this?

Yes sadly we do.
Here here nice to see somebody has got the guts to speak out against the crazy government that doesn't seem to have a clue about real-life and the needs of real people.
ReplyDeleteWell done and keep up the good work.
Come on people , many of us are being dumped onto JSA they now, state we are not scroungers, but yes we are disabled but we can work.
ReplyDeleteRight I'm disabled I have a spinal cord injury after an accident which left me with upper and lower body problems.
I have a lesion of the L5 causing Paraplegia, I have three Disc in my neck fused as they were so badly damaged, because of my spinal injury I have up to date lost 45% of my muscles in my legs, I have no bowel function no bladder function at 39 I lost all sexual function.
I'm now 60 years of age, and for thirty years I've been looking for a job, the last thirteen years I have been under the New Deal, pathways to work, and now workfare, I would love to get a job to get back into regime of meeting people.
My WCA stated I had a bad back, a bad back, I will of course appeal, but Paraplegia is a bad back.
But if I lose I will get ESA for one year and then be placed onto JSA at £67 a week, I cannot live on that and I need to find work, the rate is now £5.96 and sadly I will not be employed at that rate.
So I would be willing to work for £5.50 if it gives me more money to live on.
This is all about me living not being political.
Is it wrong that we should be working for less, well it's wrong that paraplegia is classed as a bad back, it's wrong that we have to go through this.
I must have been the bloke that caused the banking crises.
But in the end I do not care if it's a labour government Liberal or Tory, we will be forced into some sort of work be it working for free voluntary or being paid less.
I have to live and £67 a week is not going to do it is it.
